Terms of Service

Effective June 15, 2026. This is a template and not legal advice — please have it reviewed by an ed-tech attorney before relying on it.

1. Who we are

Spectrum Hub ("Spectrum Hub," "we," "us") provides a web-based platform for educators, paraprofessionals, and families to coordinate support for autistic students — including IEP goal tracking, behavior data, visual supports, and family communication.

2. Accounts and eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Spectrum Hub is for adults only — students do not log in directly.
  • You agree to provide accurate information and keep your credentials confidential.
  • You are responsible for activity on your account.

3. Roles and responsibilities

  • Teachers and administrators are responsible for ensuring they have legal authority to enter student information (typically under FERPA's "school official" exception or with parent consent).
  • Paraprofessionals may log behavior, attendance, and notes for students assigned to them by a teacher.
  • Parents and caregivers may view information for their own child and submit home check-ins.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Upload information about students you are not authorized to support.
  • Use the service to harass, discriminate against, or harm anyone.
  • Attempt to access another user's account or data.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the service.
  • Upload malicious code or content that violates law.

5. Not medical or legal advice

Spectrum Hub is a data and communication tool. It does not provide medical, psychological, behavioral, or legal advice. Always consult qualified professionals for diagnosis and treatment decisions.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of content you upload. You grant us a limited license to host, display, and process that content solely to operate the service for you and your authorized users. We do not sell your data and we do not use student data to train AI models.

7. Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans, if applicable, are billed in advance and are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change pricing on at least 30 days' notice.

8. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose a safety or security risk. On termination of a school contract, we will return or delete student records as specified in our FERPA addendum.

9. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or (b) US $100.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Spectrum Hub against claims arising from your misuse of the service or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [STATE], without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration in [COUNTY, STATE] under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual-property or data-security claims.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
